Club Rules & Guidelines

At the Macomb Online Photo Club, we are committed to maintaining a fair, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all members. In order to participate in our monthly photo contests, you must agree to and follow the rules outlined on this page. These rules exist to protect the integrity of our contests, ensure a level playing field for all participants, and maintain the quality of the images featured in our gallery and voting pages. Please read through all guidelines carefully before submitting your work. Failure to follow these rules may result in your submission being disqualified without notice. If you have any questions about whether your photo is eligible, please contact us before submitting.

All submitted photographs must be the original work of the person submitting them. You may not submit images taken by another photographer, sourced from the internet, generated by artificial intelligence, or otherwise created by someone other than yourself. By submitting a photo, you confirm that you own the copyright to the image and grant the Macomb Online Photo Club permission to display it on our website, including the voting page and the winners gallery. The club will never sell or license your images to third parties without your explicit written consent. We respect your intellectual property and expect all members to do the same with regard to the work of their fellow photographers.

Accepted File Formats & Technical Requirements

  • Accepted formats: JPG, GIF, or PNG only.
  • Maximum file size: 1 MB per image.
  • Minimum resolution: 800 x 600 pixels.
  • Images must not contain watermarks, borders, or overlaid text of any kind.
  • Each member may submit no more than one (1) photo per contest period.
  • Black-and-white conversions and basic color correction are permitted; heavy compositing or AI-generated elements are not.
  • Photos must be suitable for all audiences — no explicit, offensive, or violent content will be accepted.

Voting Rules

Members are welcome to vote once per contest period. Voting for your own submission is not permitted. Any attempts to manipulate the vote through duplicate accounts, bots, or other dishonest means will result in immediate disqualification and a permanent ban from the club. Winners are announced on the first day of the following month and their photos will be added to our permanent gallery page. We take fairness very seriously, and all decisions made by the club administrators regarding rule violations are final.
